Auction FAQ

How do I know if I Won?
If you are a winning bidder at the end of an auction, the system will email you immediately after the close time. That email notification will have the details of the auction, including the final price. The email will also contain instructions on how to proceed with the transaction. You can also find your bids in MyPage, where you can see all of your current bidding activity, and the results from closed auctions you bid on.

How do I know if I am Outbid?
The system will email you immediately if you are outbid on an auction. That email will contain a link to go directly to the auction in question, in case you want to bid again. We use an "Overtime" feature to insure that all outbid parties have at least five (5) minutes to respond. Thus, if you are outbid with 30 seconds left in an auction, the system will continue the auction for another four and a half minutes to give you the full five minutes to respond. You can also find your bids in MyPage, where you can see all of your current bidding activity, and the results from closed auctions that you had bid on.

How do I Raise my bid?
Even if you are the current high bidder, you may want to raise your "maximum" bid to insure your win. To raise your bid, simply bid again. The system will advise you that you are about to raise your bid, and ask for confirmation before submitting.

How do I Cancel my bid?
Once you have submitted a bid, it is not retractable. However, we understand that certain events can happen, which may force you to withdraw your bid. These events may include a mistake in your bid submission, or a change in the Seller's description of the item. In such a cases, you need to email us with an explanation of why you need to withdraw your bid. Our staff, at its sole discretion, considers each case before deciding whether to cancel the bid or not. This protects bidders from various tricks such as "bid shielding", by not allowing a bidder to automatically cancel a bid whenver they want.

How do I Watch an auction?
Near the top right of every auction listin is a little "*". You can click on that star to add that listing to your watch list. Later, you can access the auctions on your list from within MyPage.

How do I Contact a seller?
Every auction listin will have a link "send email" near that seller's UserName. You can use that link to send an email through our system. If you have bid on an auction, you will see that auction in your MyPage as well.

ForSale FAQ

How do I reach and Agreement to buy?
ForSale listings have a link "send email" just below the seller's username. You should first contact the seller via this link. The seller will then reply to your email. In your first email, you should ask any questions you have, before making an offer to buy. You might exchange phone numbers via email, especially if the other party is close enough for you to inspect and pick up item. When you make an offer, specify where you are, how you would pay, and how you would like the item shipped. Once you arrive at a negotiated price, send an email with ALL of the details so that they will be in writing

How long should I wait for seller to respond?
We generally recommend at least two full business days. Most sellers check their email at least once per day, but some people only check in a couple of times per week. If you have not heard back from a seller within 3 business days, you might try sending another email. Please do keep in mind that email can get rejected or lost.

How do I leave feedback for a seller?
Feedback is allowed only if you have bought or sold something to another member. Unless you can prove that you sent payment, received an item, or shipped an item, you may not leave feedback. Thus, you may not leave feedback simply because you know someone. Nor should you leave feedback if negotations break down.
